As we ushered in 2025, our team at Kendirita Tours<\/a> hit the ground running, executing our plans for the year ahead. Part of our main priorities this year is to help keep children in school and fulfill our commitment to our partner schools and beneficiaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s why on 24th January, 2025, we joined hands with Y\u2019s Men Kenya for our first CSR activity of the year.  That Friday mid-morning, even the scorching Nairobi<\/a> sun could not have derailed our resolve. With Robert Ingersoll\u2019s words\u2014 \u201cWe rise by lifting others<\/strong>\u201d<\/em>\u2014echoing in our hearts, we knew we were exactly where we needed to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But our efforts had begun earlier in the school term, with the payment of school fees for our beneficiary students in West Pokot, Asumbi Girls, and Lenana Boys High Schools\u2014laying the foundation for yet another impactful year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Process<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The week before the CSR is one of our busiest. We source the items for the students from different suppliers within the city, usually involving numerous phone calls, checks, and balances to ensure everything is just right and nothing is overlooked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Logistics are equally demanding\u2014we hire extra vans, fuel them, load up the goods, and confirm attendance for both our staff and partners. It\u2019s usually a beehive of activities here at Kendirita before we are finally ready for our visit. A whirlwind of coordination effort and team spirit, all while keeping our core business and our travelers happy. And we wouldn\u2019t have it any other way!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Visit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We arrived at the Kibera YMCA Primary School around noon to find our students eagerly waiting. The administration informed us that the school had had a parent\u2019s meeting earlier that morning, and due to time constraints, we could only be afforded a few minutes to greet the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interacting with the students is always the highlight of our visits. And this time was no different. We were delighted to learn that the school had seen a slight increase in admissions at the start of the year\u2014a testament to the collective impact of our efforts and the unwavering commitment of everyone involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grade 9 Intake<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond supporting existing students, 2025 also marked the intake of the first grade 9 class ever,<\/em><\/strong> as the Kenyan education system transitions from the 8-4-4 to the CBC system. And our team was prepared for this milestone as we included goodies for that extra class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Contribution<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Staying true to our commitment, we provided hygiene products to over 186 students from Grades 4 to 9. Each kit contained two bars of washing soap, three bars of bathing soap, a tab of petroleum jelly, and two pairs of undergarments for boys and girls. Additionally, we supplied menstrual hygiene pads for the girls, ensuring they had enough to last the school term. Not to mention a few treats we brought for the 139 children in the lower primary classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These kits are meant to help the children stay consistently clean and worry-free, boosting their confidence, while helping bridge the gap for parents struggling with tough economic times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
